On July 11, 2025, the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCI), along with all major trade bodies of Sialkot, organized a peaceful protest to raise serious concerns regarding the challenges facing Pakistan’s export sector.
President of the Chamber, Mr. Ikram Ul Haq, announced that if the legitimate demands of exporters are not fulfilled, Sialkot’s export industry will observe a “No Export Day” on July 19, 2025 — a move that highlights the urgency of the situation.
Key demands of the exporters include:
- Restoration of the Final Tax Regime (FTR) at 1.5% for exporters
- Reinstatement of the Export Facilitation Scheme (EFS) in its original form
- Exemption from 5% withholding sales tax on purchases from unregistered suppliers
- Regionally Competitive Energy Tariffs (RCET) at 9 cents/unit for electricity
- Withdrawal of arbitrary arrest powers granted to FBR under Sections 37A & 37B
- Abolishment of 10% sales tax on solar panels to promote renewable energy
- Long-term policy stability with a clear 5–10 year trade and export roadmap
- No policy changes without consultation with relevant stakeholders
Exporters of Sialkot stand united — for fair, transparent, and growth-oriented policies!
